Irvine, CA July 22, 2004 -- Life long baseball enthusiast Joseph Pfeiffer, in an attempt to raise awareness and financial support for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, (http://www.bbbsa.org) is about to fulfill a childhood dream by setting out on a near impossible task from July 22nd to Aug 20th Joseph will attempt to see a complete game at all thirty Major League Baseball stadiums in just thirty days.
Although preliminary planning for this adventure begun over 1 year ago, the going got tough with the release of the 2004 baseball schedule. It took weeks to determine a course that would allow all 30 stadiums to be visited in 30 days. In the event of game cancellations, rain outs, flight or road delays, the entire trip could be thrown off course.
The rules as set forth by Guinness World Records are simple: First, the itinerary had to be approved in advance of the record attempt. Second, the time will be measured from the first pitch of the first game to the last pitch of the last game and must be measured down to the second. Third, a log book must be signed by a stadium official at each game verifying Joseph's attendance at both the start and finish of each game. Finally, all ticket stubs along with photographic evidence must be submitted, and then verified, at the conclusion of the record attempt.
In addition to the above requirements Joseph has set up a website that will be updated throughout the journey. Visitors can follow along by logging into http://www.thirtyinthirty.com as he attempts to set this new world record.
